Confocal Microscopy Short Course

CEB invites all academic and research community to participate on a confocal microscopy short course, developed in cooperation with OLYIMPUS IBERIA. The course aims to provide a solid background on confocael microscopy, as a tool to study cell and molecular biology; will also allow the dissemination of the FV1000 confocal available in our facilities to serve the scientific community of UMinho.

The course emphasizes imaging of biofilms and nanostructures, their interaction with cells, surfaces or even study of the behaviour of the nanosystems under specific conditions; but its scope is not limited to this. The course consists of a morning lecture that will provide a discussion of the various aspects of confocal microscopy, followed by lab sessions that will give the researcher experience in image acquisition and further interpretation in confocal microscopy.  It is oriented towards beginning and intermediate users of confocal microscopy and for those wanting a refresher on confocal and light microscopy. The course schedule is listed below.
