BioNutriCoat projet distinguished at Nutrition Awards 2013

BioNutriCoat – edible coating with nutritional value, a project developed by CEB, awarded the 3rd Honorable Mention in the Research & Development Category at the Nutrition Awards 2013

The project BioNutriCoat - edible coating with nutritional value, was awarded the 3rd Honorable Mention in the Research & Development Category at the Nutrition Awards 2013. The project, developed by the researchers Ana Pinheiro, Philippe Ramos, Ana Bourbon, Hélder Silva and Miguel Cerqueira, led by Professor António Vicente, from the Centre for Biological Engineering (CEB) of the EEUM, focuses on a type of technology which allows not only increasing the storage period of food products but also incorporating functional composites with added nutritional value to the consumer.
