NASA awarded Angela Abreu with Best Oral Presentation at the International Workshop on Environment and Alternative Energy

Ângela Abreu, a post-doctoral researcher at CEB was awarded with the Best Oral Presentation at the NASA/ESA International Workshop on Environment and Alternative Energy , held in Frascati, Italy between Tuesday, 22-10-2013 and Saturday, 26-10-2013.

Ângela Abreu, a researcher from of the Bioresources, Bioremediation and Biorefinery (BRIDGE) group, from the Centre of Biological Engineering, received the Award in an event promoted by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) dedicated to "Increasing Space Mission Resiliency through Sustainability". Ângela presented the work entitled "Biohydrogen production using bionanocoatings for immobilizing highly efficient hydrogen-producing bacteria". Due to the relevance of this meeting, the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) awarded Ângela Abreu with a travel grant.
