Abstract

Nowadays, there is a growing interest on the use of natural resources as sources of bioactive compounds with potential health benefits. Since the antiquity, that is recurrent the use of plants in folk medicine, such as the elderflower (Sambucus nigra L.). Recently, this plant has been the basis of several nutraceutical products.
