BRIDGE Researchers awarded at 11th World Congress on Anaerobic Digestion

Two CEB researchers were awarded at 11th World Congress on Anaerobic Digestion (AD11), an organization of the International Water Association (IWA), held in Brisbane, Australia from 23 to 27 September of 2007. Diana Sousa received the "Best Presentation Award" and Ana Júlia Cavaleiro received the "Poster Award".

Diana Sousa, Invited Assistant Professor at the Department of Biological Engineering, was distinguished with the "Best Presentation Award" with the work "Anaerobic microbial LCFA degradation in bioreactors" (D.Z. Sousa, M.A. Pereira, J.I. Alves, H. Smidt, A.J.M. Stams and M.M. Alves).

The work "Discontinuous start-up enhances the continuous anaerobic treatment of effluents with high lipid content" (A.J. Cavaleiro, J.I. Alves, J. and M.M. Alves) was distinguished with a "Poster Award".
