Dear Students and Young Researchers,

We are thrilled to announce the 5th edition of the Chemical and Biological Engineering Doctoral Symposium (V CBEDS), themed “Past, Present & Future”. The event will take place at the University of Minho (Campus Gualtar) on the 7th and 8th November 2024. In this edition, we intend to create a sharing of knowledge and innovation on the multiple aspects of biotechnology, from health, environment, food and industry, promoting synergy between the academic and business spheres. In addition, this year we want to focus on academic perspectives after the doctorate, so the speakers chosen will be alumni of the Center for Biological Engineering who are already established in the job market and alumni who have finished more recently and are now starting their journey as post-docs.

Similarly to previous editions PhD and master students will also have the opportunity of sharing their current work in a conference setting trough poster and oral presentations.
